Risk Placement Services

Insurance Platform

Risk Placement Services, a national insurance wholesale broker, was determined to disrupt the insurance industry. The goal of this project was to create the first online product that allowed insurance agents to instantly rate, quote and bind wholesale products. Typically wholesale insurance agents fill out long applications on behalf of their clients, submit to brokers and wait for quotes, then wait to bind policies. This product took a process that typically takes two weeks and reduced it to minutes.

Project Role

  • Designed dashboard that allows customers to manage over 30,000 insurance policies and $100 Million in premium.

  • Cut training time on customer management portal by 75% by improving usability and intuitiveness of design, language, and structure.

  • Slashed customer onboarding time by 60% by streamlining internal process and reducing inputs fields from over 50 to 10.

  • Served as Product Owner and created user stories, ran agile ceremonies and managed timelines for the development team.

  • Led UX design, process flows, user interviews and focus groups for the product.

AgilityHealth

Talent Development Portal

AgilityHealth helps companies improve their teams by conducting surveys and offering metrics such as their overall happiness, performance and productivity. To help teams get the support they need, this project offered a task management feature where teams could create requests to upper management to be approved, worked, or denied.

Project Role

  • Conducted customer interviews and usability tests using current system to define customer needs, pain points, and established workarounds.

  • Elevated most important feature in the platform from a hidden place to a very easy to access location from the top navigation.

  • Created interactive system of notifications and added functionality to allow for a robust and easy to use system.

  • Tested design with customers from a variety of client companies.

AgilityHealth

Company Analytics

AgilityHealth collects data from thousands of teams from large organizations. This goal of this project was to determine what data is most important to customers and intuitively display the information at all levels of the organization.

Project Role

  • Interviewed dozens of customers to understand what data they needed and how they most commonly viewed that data.

  • Prototyped initial data displays and tested with customers.

  • Worked with data visualization experts from Tableau to optimize infographics and colors.

  • Engaged with data engineers to design the visual layout.

  • Lead design team and collaborated with product owners to move through development.

AgilityHealth

Team Analytics

AgilityHealth surveys thousands of teams across large organizations and compiles data to help executives understand how well their teams are doing in key areas such as happiness, productivity and speed to market. The goals of this project was to display insights and action steps to continually improve teams.

Project Role

  • Transformed complicated, multi-layered hierarchy of teams within large companies into a single screen.

  • Designed most important information to display on initial screen, reducing drill down by 5 clicks.

  • Simplified navigation from complicated drill-down into top level navigation.

  • Added significant customer value by creating customer centric flows across previously autonomous features. 

  • Evolved the product from read only screens to a highly interactive team management system.

  • Created interactive prototypes and tested with customers from a variety of client companies.

General Electric

ServiceMax App

ServiceMax is GE Power's all-in-one field service management application. I worked on the task management feature which handles all task related activities such as service requests, starting tasks, recording tasks and closing tasks. I also worked on the tool tracking feature which tracked the location, purpose and condition of tools from screws to cranes.

Project Role

  • Reduced training from weeks to hours by transforming the design from a tab based structure that required heavy memorization to an intuitive tree architecture

  • Developed system rules that dramatically reduced memorization and cognitive load, and significantly reduced human error

  • Re-designed all major processes to allow for efficient flow between tasks reducing average clicks per task by over 50%

  • Designed customizable dashboard allowing users to access most important information with one click

Gallup

StrengthsFinder

Clifton StrengthsFinder is an assessment that helps people better understand their natural strengths and talents. This project was a redesign of the StrengthsFinder app, used by individuals and coaches who manage hundreds of StrengthsFinder assessments for their clients.

Project Management System

(Concept Design)

Property managers with numerous units have a difficult time managing tenant placement, maintenance requests, rent collection, legal advice and finances. The desired outcome was an app that served as an all-in-one solution to property management challenges.
